The Uttar Pradesh government has presented a supplementary budget of Rs 12,909.93 crore for the 2024-25 fiscal year, which is 1.66% of the original budget. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna outlined allocations including Rs 7,500.18 crore for industrial development, Rs 2,000 crore for the energy sector, and Rs 1,000 crore for bus purchases. The budget also earmarks funds for urban development, skill development, and educational improvements. Significant funds will support the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, along with other infrastructure projects. Alongside this, the government introduced a controversial bill regarding religious conversions and appointed four new cabinet ministers. The supplementary budget discussion is scheduled for Thursday in the assembly.
