Athletics unveil patches honoring Henderson, Sacramento

The Oakland Athletics have announced new jersey patches for the 2025 season to celebrate their inaugural year in Sacramento and honor the late Hall of Famer Rickey Henderson. The team will wear a sleeve patch featuring the Tower Bridge, along with the word 'Sacramento,' while also donning a patch with Henderson's iconic No. 24 throughout the season. Fans attending the A's first game at Sutter Health Park on March 31 will receive giveaways including a trucker hat with the Sacramento patch and a rally towel honoring Henderson. Henderson, regarded as the greatest player in A's history, died in December and holds the all-time records for stolen bases and runs scored. The A's will spend at least the next three seasons in Sacramento before relocating to Las Vegas, with construction of a new stadium planned. Registration for Opening Day tickets begins on January 22, with sales for a series against the San Francisco Giants also opening soon after.
