PGTI Appoints Amitabh Kant, Global Leaders to Board

The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) has appointed Amitabh Kant, former CEO of NITI Aayog and India’s G20 Sherpa, as its newest member on the governing body, marking a significant milestone in the growth of Indian golf. Kant, known for his transformative contributions to India's economic and global positioning, brings a wealth of experience in policy reform, international diplomacy, and strategic branding, which is expected to elevate Indian golf's profile both domestically and internationally. Alongside Kant, global corporate leaders Shantanu Narayen, Nikesh Arora, and Pradeep Bakshi have joined PGTI as advisors, adding valuable expertise and international credibility to the tour's leadership. The strengthened leadership aims to foster partnerships with global golf associations, attract sponsorships, and create pathways for Indian golfers to gain sustained visibility on international tours. PGTI President Kapil Dev and CEO Amandeep Singh Johl have expressed optimism that this blend of global vision and local inspiration will drive the sport’s growth at both elite and grassroots levels, positioning golf as a vehicle for India's soft power and sporting excellence.
