Hughes Officer Cleared in Christmas Eve Shooting of Allie Kundert
The First Judicial Prosecuting Attorney's Office has cleared Hughes Police Department Officer Mabry Green in the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Allie Kundert on Christmas Eve 2024. Officer Green discharged his weapon after encountering Kundert, who was reported to be armed and causing a disturbance outside the Hughes Church of God. According to Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Mary Hoshall Reeves, Kundert did not comply with commands, behaved erratically, and reached for a pistol in her waistband, prompting the use of deadly force. The incident was investigated by the Arkansas State Police, which supported the conclusion that Officer Green's actions were justified. Kundert was pronounced dead at the scene following the shooting. The decision to clear Officer Green was finalized on February 1, 2025.
