Jurassic World: Rebirth Soft Reboot Trailer Released

Universal Pictures has released the final trailer for 'Jurassic World: Rebirth,' the seventh film in the franchise and a soft reboot set five years after Jurassic World Dominion. Directed by Gareth Edwards and written by David Koepp, the film follows covert ops expert Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson) as she leads a team, including Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey, to a remote island—formerly the Jurassic Park research facility—to extract dinosaur DNA for life-saving medicine. The island is now overrun by mutant dinosaurs, including the Distortus Rex, a hybrid inspired by Star Wars and Alien monsters, as well as new genetically-modified creatures like a baby triceratops for comic relief. Classic franchise nostalgia is featured, with nods to Michael Crichton's novels and a river sequence. The team's mission is complicated when they encounter a civilian family stranded by marauding aquatic dinosaurs. The film premieres in theaters on July 2, 2025.
