Man Charged With Murder in Miami-Dade

Roiniel Perez, 31, has been charged with second-degree murder following the discovery of the burned body of 52-year-old Oscar Rene Hernandez Augustin in southwest Miami-Dade. Hernandez Augustin was reported missing on November 12, and his body was found two days later, partially charred and with multiple stab wounds, leading authorities to rule his death a homicide. Police located Perez driving the victim's stolen Toyota Corolla and, after a brief chase that ended in a crash, apprehended him when he attempted to hide under a parked car. Evidence found in Perez's possession included the victim's identification and bank cards, as well as photos on his phone showing bloodstains in the vehicle. The investigation revealed Perez had admitted to being with Hernandez Augustin on the morning of his disappearance, though the motive remains unclear. He is currently being held without bond on multiple charges, including murder and grand theft.
