Carlos Sainz, the 62-year-old defending champion of the Dakar Rally, is aiming to secure a historic fifth title and become the first driver to win with five different manufacturers, now competing with Ford after Audi's withdrawal. The two-week rally, starting in Bisha and concluding in Shubaytah, stretches over 8,000 kilometers and includes challenging stages such as a marathon stage and a 971-kilometer Chrono stage. Sainz, who has previously won titles with Volkswagen, Peugeot, and Mini, emphasizes the importance of fitness and strategic planning for the grueling race. His main rival, Nasser Al-Attiyah, is also in contention, adding to the competitive atmosphere.
