LG Electronics invests ₹5,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh, creates 11,000 jobs
LG Electronics is investing over ₹5,000 crore to establish its first South Indian manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, with production expected to begin by December 2026. The new 247-acre plant will manufacture refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, televisions, and key components, and is projected to create around 1,500 direct and up to 10,000 indirect jobs. This marks LG's largest investment in South India and its third manufacturing unit nationally, supported by substantial state government incentives such as tax waivers, water and electricity subsidies, and skill development grants. Four LG suppliers will also invest ₹839 crore in Sri City, expanding the region’s industrial ecosystem. The plant's location offers strategic logistics advantages, contributing to Sri City’s emergence as a major business hub for global firms. The Andhra Pradesh government has implemented fast-track approvals and dedicated officers to ensure the project's timely completion.
