Missing Ohio Man Found Dead at West Virginia Park

Chad E. Polen, a 48-year-old man from Canton, Ohio, was found deceased at Mountwood Park in Wood County, West Virginia, after being reported missing since June 19. His blue Honda Accord, registered in Ohio, was discovered abandoned at the park's volleyball area several weeks prior to the discovery of his body. Search efforts involved the West Virginia Natural Resources Police and teams from both West Virginia and Ohio, with initial searches yielding no results until a more detailed search on July 27 led to the recovery. Authorities have stated that no foul play is suspected in Polen's death. The Wood County Sheriff's Office expressed gratitude to all search teams, local volunteer fire agencies, and other responders for their efforts, while offering condolences to Polen's family.
