Guardians Place Lane Thomas on 10-Day IL with Wrist Injury

Cleveland Guardians center fielder Lane Thomas was placed on the 10-day injured list with a bone bruise in his right wrist, an injury sustained when he was hit by a pitch two weeks ago. Since the incident, Thomas has struggled to return to full health and has been in and out of the lineup. The move is retroactive to April 20, and while Thomas will be eligible to return by April 30, it is uncertain whether he will be ready by then. To fill his roster spot, the Guardians called up infielder Will Wilson from Triple-A Columbus, marking his first promotion to the majors. Angel Martinez has been receiving most of the playing time in center field in Thomas's absence. The Guardians also transferred pitcher Trevor Stephan, recovering from Tommy John surgery, to the 60-day injured list.
