Ilya Tsaruk, 25, and Sophia Tsaruk, 26, from Snohomish, Washington, tragically drowned while snorkeling at Ahihi-Kinau Natural Area Reserve in Maui, leaving behind their 18-month-old son, Logan. Sophia was also pregnant with a baby girl. The couple was found unresponsive by rescue teams; despite CPR attempts, both were pronounced dead at the scene. Family and friends have set up a GoFundMe campaign to cover funeral costs and support Logan. The Tsaruks were known for their active involvement in their church community. A celebration of their lives will be held on September 26, 2024, in Mukilteo, Washington.
