St. Lucie County Investigates Suspicious Death of 3-Month-Old Infant

St. Lucie County authorities are investigating the suspicious death of a three-month-old baby who was brought unresponsive to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital and pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Medical staff found the circumstances alarming and promptly notified law enforcement, leading to an immediate criminal investigation. Detectives interviewed family members and hospital personnel before executing a search warrant at the family's home on Silverstream Circle, where two other children were removed by the Department of Children and Families. Lt. Andrew Bolonka of the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office emphasized the investigation is in its early stages, and no charges have been filed yet as officials await the results of the autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
