Massachusetts Man Charged Assault Missing Pregnant Teen

Gregory Groom, a 22-year-old man from Rehoboth, Massachusetts, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and battery on a pregnant person, domestic assault and battery, and intimidation of a witness in connection with the assault of 18-year-old pregnant Kylee Monteiro. Monteiro, who is 12 weeks pregnant, has been missing since August 7, the day after the alleged assault took place. Authorities have been actively searching the area where she was last seen, including wooded areas near Groom's residence, but it remains unclear if she has been found. Family members describe Monteiro as unusually out of contact and fearful for her safety, and they have organized a vigil and a GoFundMe campaign to raise awareness and support. Groom is held without bail and is scheduled for arraignment at Taunton District Court. The investigation is ongoing with cooperation from local police and the Bristol County District Attorney's Office.
