Vincent Hancock mixed skeet
Vincent Hancock made history by winning his fourth Olympic gold medal in men's skeet shooting at the 2024 Paris Olympics, becoming one of only six athletes to achieve this feat in the same event across four different Games. However, he and his teammate Austen Smith settled for silver in the inaugural mixed team skeet event, losing to Italy's Gabriele Rosetti and Diana Bacosi 45-44. This marked Hancock's first non-gold medal in his Olympic career, as he was aiming to become the first shooter to win five golds since 1924. Smith, who is also Hancock's student, previously secured a bronze in the women's skeet event. China continued its dominance in shooting, winning five gold medals in the Games, including Li Yuehong's victory in the men's 25-meter rapid fire pistol final. Hancock's achievements contribute to his legacy as one of the most decorated skeet shooters in history.
