Moonvalley, an AI video generation startup co-founded by former DeepMind researchers, has publicly launched Marey, a production-grade AI video model designed specifically for professional filmmakers. Marey differentiates itself by being trained exclusively on fully licensed, high-definition footage, ensuring legal safety and ethical use, unlike many AI models trained on unlicensed content. The model offers advanced creative controls such as Motion Direction, Pose Control, and Camera Control, enabling filmmakers to fine-tune video elements beyond simple text prompts, and supports up to 10-second clips at 1080p resolution. Independent filmmaker Ángel Manuel Soto praised Marey for democratizing access to filmmaking tools, significantly reducing production costs, and empowering storytellers who previously faced financial and systemic barriers.
