Man Seriously Injured in Kangaroo Attack in Queensland

A man in his 50s was severely injured by a massive kangaroo outside his home in Willows, Queensland, while preparing to leave for the shops. The altercation occurred when the man encountered two kangaroos, one of which fled while the other, estimated to be around two meters tall and weighing approximately 100 kilograms, attacked him, resulting in serious lacerations to his hip, arm, and chest. He was initially treated at Emerald Hospital before being airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital, where he remains in stable condition. Witnesses, including Willows Rural Fire Brigade First Officer Rick Underhill, noted the sudden and unprovoked nature of the attack, which is unusual given the historical absence of such incidents in the area. Authorities have issued public warnings regarding the aggressive kangaroos, urging residents to exercise caution and avoid approaching them. The local community is now on high alert, with calls for governmental action to address the threat posed by these kangaroos.
