He compared the situation to someone saying a nearby area like Fulham is being taken over simply because celebrities have homes within a few miles. The Cotswolds have long attracted A-list residents such as the Beckhams, Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres, and others, drawn by the area's privacy and idyllic countryside. Clarkson emphasized that the region remains a beautiful and desirable place to live and highlighted the challenges faced by farmers, asserting his respect for their hard work. His remarks came as Clarkson’s Farm won Best Factual Entertainment at the National Television Awards, where he humorously referenced his weight loss and trouser mishap during his acceptance speech.
