His wife, Karen Houghton, confirmed his death recently, stating she did not want to discuss it until now. Houghton had a notable career, starting as a child actor in shows like 'Man with a Camera' and moving to daytime soap operas where he received four Daytime Emmy Awards for his writing. He portrayed Kenny Ward in 'Knots Landing' and was an original cast member of 'The Young and the Restless,' where he played the character Greg Foster. Later, he shifted to writing, contributing significantly to both soap operas until 2007. Houghton is survived by his wife, children, and other family members.
