Jack Doohan, Yuki Tsunoda Targeted by Online Abuse
Australian Formula 1 driver Jack Doohan has called for an end to the online abuse of his family after a parody account circulated a doctored image falsely depicting his father mocking Franco Colapinto's crash at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix. Doohan initially believed the post was created by Argentine fans but later clarified it originated from a parody account and was amplified by Argentine media outlets, leading to widespread harassment. Both Doohan and his Alpine team have condemned the abuse and stressed the harmful effects of misinformation. The parody account responsible has publicly apologized for the distress caused. Additionally, Red Bull driver Yuki Tsunoda was also subjected to online abuse from Colapinto's fans following an on-track incident. Drivers and the FIA President have urged fans to act respectfully, underscoring ongoing concerns about social media conduct in Formula 1.
