ONDC appoints Rohit Lohia as Chief Business Officer to strengthen leadership

The Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) has appointed Rohit Lohia as its new Chief Business Officer (CBO), aiming to strengthen its leadership as it expands its digital commerce ecosystem. Lohia brings extensive experience from his previous role as Senior Vice President at Paytm, where he led business strategy, product development, technology, and risk management, and held board positions at Paytm Money and One97 Communication India. With a background that includes co-founding fintech and e-commerce startups and consulting at Boston Consulting Group, Lohia holds advanced degrees from IIM Bangalore and IIT Roorkee. Acting CEO and COO of ONDC, Vibhor Jain, emphasized Lohia's valuable expertise in scaling digital businesses and deep understanding of the e-commerce landscape that will help drive sustainable value creation through the Open Network. Lohia expressed his commitment to fostering an ecosystem characterized by transparent access, innovation, and operational excellence to empower small businesses and create a mutually beneficial relationship between sellers and buyers. This appointment follows recent leadership changes at ONDC and supports the network's ongoing expansion across sectors such as retail, mobility, and logistics.
