HERE Technologies and AWS Form $1 Billion Partnership

HERE Technologies and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have announced a $1 billion partnership to enhance the development of software-defined vehicles (SDVs) over the next decade. This collaboration will leverage AWS's cloud infrastructure to improve HERE's AI-driven mapping solutions, which are essential for advancing automotive innovations such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and automated driving technologies. The newly introduced SceneXtract tool will allow automakers to create simulation-ready environments quickly, significantly reducing testing time and costs. Additionally, HERE unveiled an AI Assistant designed to optimize navigation and logistics for transportation companies, incorporating personalized travel planning and enhanced safety features. This agreement builds on nearly ten years of collaboration between the two companies, aiming to streamline the development of location-aware software for the automotive sector. The project reflects the growing importance of location technology in the automotive industry, especially concerning electric and connected vehicle capabilities.
