Iberdrola Secures Contract for New England Wind Farm

Pampa Energía has announced a $500 million investment in a new wind energy project in Coronel Rosales, Argentina, with an installed capacity of 300 MW. This project, part of a broader initiative to meet Argentina's renewable energy goals, will significantly contribute to the country's energy matrix by providing enough electricity for approximately 100,000 homes. In the U.S., Iberdrola's subsidiary Avangrid has secured a contract for the New England Wind 1 offshore wind farm, which will generate 791 MW of clean energy, powering 400,000 homes and creating over 4,400 jobs. The project is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to removing 300,000 gasoline cars from the roads annually. Additionally, Iberdrola is developing the Broadsound Solar Farm in Queensland, Australia, with a capacity of 376 MW and a co-located battery storage system, further diversifying its renewable energy portfolio. These initiatives highlight the commitment of both companies to advancing renewable energy and contributing to global decarbonization efforts.
