South Africa Names Bosch to Replace Injured Nortje for Champions Trophy

South Africa has announced that fast bowler Corbin Bosch will replace the injured Anrich Nortje in their squad for the ICC Champions Trophy, which begins on February 19 in Pakistan. Bosch, who made his ODI debut in December 2024, has been added to the 15-member team alongside fast bowler Kwena Maphaka, who will serve as a traveling reserve. Nortje is sidelined due to a recurring back injury that also kept him out of the 2023 Cricket World Cup. As South Africa prepares for the tournament, they will first participate in a tri-series against Pakistan and New Zealand, with their Champions Trophy opener against Afghanistan scheduled for February 21. Former Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat will assist the team as a consultant during the tri-series and the Champions Trophy. The team aims to build on their recent performances and solidify their chances in the upcoming event.
