Google Plans AI-Powered Personalized Smart Replies, Inbox Cleanup for Gmail

At Google I/O 2025, Google announced new AI-powered features for Gmail using its Gemini AI platform, aimed at enhancing user productivity and email management. Personalized Smart Replies will leverage users' past emails and Google Drive documents to generate contextually relevant responses that match the sender's tone and style, with the feature launching in alpha in July and general availability expected in Q3. Gemini will also assist with inbox decluttering by enabling users to command it to delete specific groups of emails, simplifying the task of managing large volumes of messages. Additionally, Gmail will integrate fast appointment scheduling, where Gemini detects meeting intents and suggests available times directly within the inbox.
