Missy Bilderback Named Head Coach Southern Miss Women's Basketball

Missy Bilderback has been named the new head coach of the Southern Miss women's basketball team, succeeding Joye Lee McNelis after her retirement. Bilderback, a Southern Miss alumna, returns to her alma mater after a successful tenure at Louisiana-Monroe, where she led the team to its first winning season in 14 years. Her coaching experience includes 16 years at Presbyterian Christian School and eight years at Jones County Junior College, where she achieved multiple state championships and tournament appearances. Southern Miss Director of Athletics Jeremy McClain expressed confidence in her ability to build on the program's strong foundation and enhance student-athlete development. Bilderback expressed excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to lead the Lady Eagles, looking forward to fostering community relationships and aiming for championships. She will be formally introduced at a news conference scheduled for later this week.
