Two Children Shot in Separate Incidents in West Philadelphia
Two young children were injured in separate shootings in West Philadelphia on Monday afternoon. A 2-year-old boy was critically wounded after being shot in the abdomen inside a home on Delancey Street, with initial reports indicating the injury may have been accidental. Hours later, a 5- or 6-year-old girl was shot while sitting on the porch of a home on Pine Street and is currently in stable condition. Police have not made any arrests in either case, and investigations into the motives are ongoing. The incidents have heightened community concerns about gun violence, especially its impact on children. Both cases are being actively investigated by the Philadelphia Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Group.
