Russia Plans Expand Cooperation Across All Sectors With Iran Amid Nuclear Tensions

Russia has announced its readiness to expand cooperation with Iran across all sectors, emphasizing a dynamic and strategic partnership. This development follows Moscow's condemnation of U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, actions aimed at preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, which Iran denies pursuing. The two countries have strengthened ties through agreements such as the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement, which includes defense cooperation and came into effect in October 2025. Additionally, Russia's state nuclear company Rosatom signed a $25 billion deal to build four nuclear power plants in Iran, which currently faces electricity shortages.
