Two Children Die After Falling Through Ice

A tragic incident at Washington Park Lake in Albany, New York, claimed the lives of a 12-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl over the weekend. The boy fell through the ice while trying to walk across the lake, and the girl, attempting to rescue him, also fell through. Despite the prompt response from Albany police and firefighters, the boy's body was recovered later, and the girl, initially in critical condition, succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday. Both children were students of North Albany Middle School, and the school community is mourning their loss, with crisis services available for support.
