Schroders Names Matt Oomen Global Client Group Head, Promotes Asia Leaders
Schroders, the British asset manager with nearly £779 billion in assets under management, has appointed Matt Oomen as its new global head of client group, effective August, to drive business growth and strengthen client relationships. Oomen, formerly global head of distribution at BNY Investments, will report to CEO Richard Oldfield and join Schroders' executive committee. Alongside this, Karine Szenberg, the previous global head of client group, has been promoted to executive vice chair, focusing on strategic partnerships and accelerating company strategy. In Asia, Gopi Mirchandani has been promoted to head of client group, Asia, replacing Chris Durack, who will chair Asia until his departure at year-end. Jason Yu has been appointed country head for Hong Kong, pending regulatory approval. These changes are part of CEO Oldfield's broader effort to revamp Schroders' senior leadership and sharpen its focus on client engagement.
