Nvidia, Uber Partner to Expand 100,000 Global Level 4 Robotaxis by 2027
Uber Technologies has partnered with Nvidia to advance and scale its autonomous vehicle fleet, focusing on deploying Level 4-ready robotaxis and delivery vehicles globally by 2027. This collaboration leverages Nvidia's DRIVE AGX Hyperion 10 platform, a modular and customizable architecture designed to enable automakers to produce vehicles capable of hosting any compatible autonomous driving software. Uber plans to deploy up to 100,000 autonomous vehicles powered by Nvidia's AI technology, with Stellantis among the key manufacturers supplying at least 5,000 vehicles equipped with Nvidia DRIVE systems for robotaxi services. Other automotive companies such as Mercedes-Benz, Lucid, Volvo, and Aurora are also integrating Nvidia's platform to develop autonomous passenger and freight vehicles. Nvidia and Uber are additionally creating a data factory powered by Nvidia's Cosmos world foundation model to support data curation and processing for autonomous vehicle development, aiming to establish a safe, scalable autonomous mobility network. This partnership reflects a broader industry push toward AI-driven autonomous transportation solutions, with Nvidia's technology serving as a foundational element for future mobility.
