Islip: Nine-Year-Old Dead, Others Injured

A nine-year-old girl was found dead inside a home on Middle Street in Islip, Oxfordshire, on Tuesday, and Thames Valley Police have launched a homicide investigation. Officers were called after reports that three children had been assaulted; two other children (a boy and a girl) were taken to hospital, treated and discharged. A 49-year-old woman was also taken to hospital in a life‑threatening condition and is under police bed watch; police said they are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the incident. A cordon, forensic enquiries and an air ambulance were reported at the scene, detectives described the incident as contained, and a post‑mortem has been carried out with the cause of death unascertained pending further investigation. Police said specially trained officers are supporting the victim’s family and urged anyone with information or Middle Street footage to contact Thames Valley Police.
