Atletico Fined, Stadium Closed for Fan Violence

Atletico Madrid has been sanctioned with a €45,000 fine and a partial stadium closure for three matches following the violent behavior of their fans during the Madrid derby against Real Madrid. The Royal Spanish Football Federation's disciplinary committee ordered the closure of the south stand, where the ultras are located, as the club failed to ensure spectator safety. Atletico Madrid has identified and banned some of the perpetrators and expressed a commitment to eradicating such behavior.
