A Canadian citizen, Qawarshi Zakaria Adam, was shot and killed by Israeli forces near Netiv Ha’Asara on Monday after allegedly threatening them with a knife. Security footage showed Adam approaching the officers while reportedly shouting anti-Israel slogans. The incident occurred amidst ongoing tensions following the October 7 Hamas attacks, which had previously resulted in the deaths of 20 residents in that area. Global Affairs Canada is investigating the incident while the Israeli military confirms that no other injuries were reported. This event is part of a broader conflict that has seen significant casualties on both sides, with over 1,100 Israelis and nearly 39,000 Palestinians reported dead since the outbreak of violence. The Israeli military has also ordered evacuations in parts of the Gaza Strip to target Hamas militants.
