Barcelona Sign Bardghji, Plan Further Squad Reinforcements

Barcelona have completed the signing of 19-year-old winger Roony Bardghji from FC Copenhagen on a four-year contract until 2029, with a transfer fee of around €2 million plus add-ons and a sell-on clause. Bardghji, regarded as one of Europe's top young talents, missed much of the 2024-25 season due to a knee injury. He is Barcelona's second summer signing after goalkeeper Joan Garcia, following the club's unsuccessful pursuit of Nico Williams. Bardghji will compete for a place in Hansi Flick's first team during preseason but could also play for Barça Atletic or be loaned out. Barcelona are also negotiating a contract extension with Frenkie de Jong, who has changed agents to help secure a new deal. The club is seeking further reinforcements while managing financial constraints after a successful 2024/25 campaign.
