Carlos Magana Arrested for Murdering Father in Las Vegas

Carlos Magana, a 32-year-old Las Vegas resident, has been arrested for fatally stabbing his father, Luis Armando Torres-Avila, during an early morning argument on March 24. The incident occurred at an apartment on Rexford Drive, where Magana's sister reported the crime to the police. Family members described Magana as having a history of violent behavior and believed he suffered from undiagnosed schizophrenia. Magana claimed he woke up feeling he was drugged and raped, leading to an altercation with his father. He attacked his father with a kitchen knife, resulting in multiple stab wounds that proved fatal. Magana is currently held without bail at Clark County Detention Center, facing charges of open murder with a deadly weapon, and is due for a court appearance on March 27.
