Alice Guo Returns to Manila After Deportation

Alice Guo, the former mayor of Bamban, Philippines, has been deported from Indonesia amid serious allegations including money laundering and connections to Chinese criminal syndicates. Guo, also known as Guo Hua Ping, had evaded a Philippine Senate investigation since July but was arrested in Indonesia for immigration violations. Upon her return to Manila, she denied the charges, claiming they were malicious and requesting protection due to death threats. The Philippine Anti-Money Laundering Council has filed multiple counts of money laundering against her and 35 others. Interior Minister Benjamin Abalos assured her security while urging her to reveal the truth to assist in the investigation. A Senate probe began in May after a casino raid linked to Guo uncovered scam operations.
