Family Seeks Funds to Repatriate Teen Found in Tenerife

Jay Slater's family is seeking additional GoFundMe donations to cover the costs of repatriating his body and arranging his funeral after the 19-year-old was found dead in Tenerife following a month-long search. The apprentice bricklayer from Lancashire disappeared on June 17, and his body was discovered at the base of a ravine near Masca on July 15. His mother, Debbie Duncan, expressed gratitude for the support received and highlighted the efforts of the Dutch search team Signi Zoekhondon and the charity LBT Global. The family plans to bring Jay's body back to the UK, which could take up to a week, and hope to give him the 'send-off he deserves.' The GoFundMe campaign has raised around £60,000 so far, which will help cover repatriation and funeral costs.
