Salford Man Jailed After Ramming Police Car in 100mph Pursuit
Jayden O'Donnell, a 23-year-old from Salford, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison after a reckless police chase that reached speeds of over 100mph. The pursuit began when officers spotted him driving a damaged Mazda after leaving a pub, leading to multiple traffic violations including running red lights and driving the wrong way on roundabouts. O'Donnell, already disqualified from driving, rammed a police vehicle twice during the chase but fortunately did not injure any officers. He eventually abandoned his car and was found hiding under a bed at a nearby residence, where he was arrested. Inspector Dan Pickavance from Greater Manchester Police commended the professionalism of the officers involved and expressed relief that no one was hurt during the incident. O'Donnell pleaded guilty to several charges, including dangerous driving and possession of a bladed article.
