Aniston to Star in McCurdy Memoir Apple Series
Jennifer Aniston will star in and executive produce a 10-episode Apple TV+ dramedy based on Jennette McCurdy’s bestselling memoir 'I’m Glad My Mom Died,' with Aniston portraying McCurdy's narcissistic mother. The series is co-run by McCurdy and Ari Katcher and will examine the codependent, abusive dynamic between a young actress and her controlling mother. McCurdy, who gained fame on Nickelodeon's 'iCarly,' wrote in her memoir about enduring trauma, forced acting, and eating disorders under her mother's influence. The producing team includes Sharon Horgan, LuckyChap, and Jerrod Carmichael, and marks Aniston’s continued work with Apple TV+, where she also stars in 'The Morning Show.' Production is in early stages, with a premiere projected for late 2026 or 2027. The memoir spent over 80 weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list and fueled widespread discussion about abuse, fame, and recovery.
