Rublev saves match points, defeats De Minaur in Qatar Open
Andrey Rublev triumphed over Alex de Minaur in a thrilling quarterfinal match at the Qatar Open, saving one match point and converting his eighth to win 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (8). The match showcased Rublev's resilience as he squandered a 5-2 lead in the final set before securing his place in the semifinals after 2½ hours of play. Rublev's victory marks his first win against a Top 10 player since August of the previous year, and he will face Felix Auger-Aliassime next. The Canadian advanced after his opponent withdrew due to injury, setting up a challenging encounter, as Medvedev, another top player, is also in the mix for the semifinals. This quarterfinal round also included top-seeded Carlos Alcaraz and Jack Draper, who are vying for a spot in the next stage of the tournament. The competition in Doha continues to intensify as the remaining players aim for the title.
