The 2006 Ford pickup, driven by a man suspected of being under the influence, struck her after she landed on the pavement. Police arrested the driver on charges of vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence, with alcohol being identified as a contributing factor in the crash. This incident marks the 37th traffic fatality in San Jose for 2024. The driver and two other passengers were cooperative with the investigation, but their identities have not been released.
