Hyattsville Man Charged in 2023 Prince George’s Murder

Rudy Lopez-Garcia, a 33-year-old Hyattsville resident, has been charged with first- and second-degree murder in the June 2023 shooting death of 22-year-old Aristides Flores Rosales in Langley Park, Prince George’s County. The shooting, which followed a dispute between the men who reportedly did not know each other, also left another man injured but alive. The case remained unsolved for two years until Lopez-Garcia was arrested in August 2024 for an unrelated, non-fatal shooting. A search of his home uncovered two firearms, one linked to the Rosales murder. Lopez-Garcia was formally charged in June 2025 and is currently held without bond. Authorities are seeking additional information from the public about the case.
