Security Guard Charged Shooting Missing Minnesota Teen Chicago

Raven Aikins, a 29-year-old Jewel-Osco security guard, was charged with aggravated battery for shooting a 17-year-old missing girl outside the South Loop Jewel-Osco store in Chicago. The shooting occurred after a verbal altercation escalated when the teen reportedly threw water at Aikins, who then pulled out a handgun and shot the girl in the upper right thigh. The victim, who had been missing from Minnesota since January, was treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and is reported to be in good condition. Aikins left the scene but was arrested about 15 minutes later at her home. The incident has raised safety concerns among local residents, with some noting the presence of unsupervised youths in the area. Authorities are working to reconnect the injured teen with her family after her identification was confirmed following her recovery.
