Betts, a former NFL running back who played for the Washington Redskins and New Orleans Saints, has transitioned from high school coaching to the collegiate level since 2021. His coaching tenure at Iowa has been marked by his ability to establish a strong culture within the running back group, earning praise from players for his mentorship and NFL experience. Betts will replace Joel Thomas, who recently departed for the Saints. The Giants are looking to improve after a disappointing season and have opted to keep their current coaching regime in place, aiming for better performance in 2025.
