Real Women Have Curves Musical Set for Broadway

The musical adaptation of 'Real Women Have Curves,' based on Josefina López's play and the subsequent film, is set to debut on Broadway in 2025. This production, which premiered at the American Repertory Theater in 2023, features music and lyrics by Grammy Award-winning Joy Huerta and composer Benjamin Velez, with a book by Lisa Loomer and additional material by Nell Benjamin. Directed and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo, the story follows 18-year-old Ana García, who struggles between her family's expectations and her dreams of attending college in New York City. The show not only highlights immigrant experiences but also addresses themes of body image and personal aspirations.
