Gary Pinkel Arrested for Suspected DWI in Missouri
Gary Pinkel, the former Missouri and Toledo head football coach and a College Football Hall of Fame inductee, was arrested at 11:46 p.m. late Monday night in Camden County, Missouri, on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was taken to Camden County Jail and released, with no formal charges filed as of Tuesday afternoon. Pinkel’s attorney has stated he will plead not guilty and stressed that Pinkel is presumed innocent until proven otherwise. This is Pinkel’s second DWI-related arrest, with the first in 2011 resulting in probation, a suspended jail sentence, and a team suspension. Pinkel retired in 2015 as Missouri’s winningest coach after guiding the program’s rise and transition to the SEC. The case remains pending as judicial proceedings continue.
