Polanco's Two Homers Fuel Mariners' First Home Playoff Win
Jorge Polanco hit two solo home runs off Tigers ace Tarik Skubal to lift the Seattle Mariners to a 3-2 Game 2 victory, evening the ALDS at 1-1. Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodríguez hit back-to-back doubles in the bottom of the eighth to retake the lead, and Andrés Muñoz worked the ninth to secure the win. Polanco became the first player to homer twice off Skubal since Paul Goldschmidt in 2021 and joined Ken Griffey Jr., Edgar Martínez and Jay Buhner as the only Mariners with multi-homer postseason games. The victory was Seattle’s first home playoff win in 24 years and caps a strong rebound season for Polanco after knee surgery. The series now shifts to Detroit for Games 3 and 4.
