Osgood Perkins Begins Production on 'The Young People' Starring Tung, Parker

Osgood Perkins is directing a new film titled The Young People, starring Lola Tung and Nico Parker, with production set to begin this fall in Vancouver. The film is the first project under Perkins' new first-look deal with Neon, where he also launched his production banner, Phobos, alongside Chris Ferguson. Neon is co-financing and will release the film theatrically in the U.S., also handling international sales. While plot details remain under wraps, a screenplay snippet referencing "The Old Ones" hints at possible Lovecraftian or cult themes. Perkins has had a successful recent run with Neon, including the indie hit Longlegs and the Stephen King adaptation The Monkey, and his next film Keeper is scheduled for release on November 14. Both Tung and Parker bring notable recent credits, including Tung’s lead role in The Summer I Turned Pretty and Parker’s appearances in The Last of Us and How To Train Your Dragon.
