Prince William Launches Six-Part Rangers Docuseries on BBC Earth

Prince William, the Prince of Wales, is launching a six-part docuseries titled 'Guardians' that highlights the perilous work of wildlife rangers protecting the planet's most threatened environments. Created through his Royal Foundation’s United for Wildlife program and co-produced with BBC Earth, the series offers exclusive digital-first episodes featuring firsthand accounts from rangers who face enormous risks combating poachers, habitat loss, and supporting sustainable human-animal coexistence. William emphasizes that the work of these rangers is often overlooked despite being one of the most dangerous jobs on the planet, with around 1,400 rangers having died over the last decade. The series is filmed in breathtaking and challenging locations, from the Himalayas to Brazilian rainforests, and aims to recognize and celebrate these 'unsung heroes' defending biodiversity and ecosystems. The project also aligns with United for Wildlife's broader initiatives, including providing insurance for thousands of African rangers and campaigning against the illegal wildlife trade. William has voiced the series and personally advocates for greater awareness of the critical role rangers play in conservation.
