Black Sabbath Returns Birmingham With Final Shows, Charity Impact
Birmingham is hosting a monumental weekend celebrating the final UK show of Black Sabbath's farewell tour, "Back To The Beginning," on July 5 at Villa Park, featuring the original lineup performing together for the first time in 20 years alongside other heavy metal icons such as Metallica and Slayer. Concurrently, Jeff Lynne of ELO is performing at the Utilita Arena with an added show due to high demand. Complementing the music festivities, the Colmore Food Festival showcases the city's top restaurants and attracts thousands of food lovers. To honor Black Sabbath's legacy, Selfridges in Birmingham has launched an exclusive immersive fan experience and merchandise collection, featuring limited-edition jackets, hoodies, t-shirts, and accessories created in collaboration with artists and brands like Mason Newman, Moschino, Alpha Industries, and Vanson Leathers, which includes Ozzy Osbourne-signed leather jackets. Local artist Mr Murals is creating live artwork within the Selfridges windows over seven days, featuring a six-meter-wide portrait of the original band lineup and the iconic Black Sabbath logo, enhancing the city-wide tribute. This pop-up, open until July 21, offers fans photo opportunities with a metal-clad wall displaying the band’s emblem and screens the documentary "The End," making it a comprehensive celebration of Black Sabbath's musical roots and Birmingham heritage.
